Location: Sedgley and within the local community
Hours per Week: 8 hours, flexibility required, additional hours available
£12.25 per hour
The purpose of this role is to safely transport customers between their homes and Beacon Centre in Sedgley or other activities in the community. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety of the clients when in the minibus and when accessing the services at Beacon, this will involve the use of aids such as wheelchair clamps, the minibus tail lift and any other relevant equipment.
This role will mainly involve working 4 hours per day on Tuesday and Wednesday 08.15 – 10.15am and 14.45 – 16.45pm, however, flexibility will be required to work over 5 days to cover driver absence/leave when necessary.
There may also be opportunity for additional hours on a casual basis for ad-hoc activities requiring transport including community activities, events and supporting our retail drivers.
The successful candidate must have a full, clean driving licence including category D1, they will also be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and be willing to complete MIDAS training.

At Beacon we have dedicated team members who are chosen for their compassionate natures as well as their competence, reliability and experience. We provide person centred care, placing the individual needs of the client at the very centre of all we do.
Shift times are generally 6am -2pm, 2pm – 10pm or night shifts, however, please note this is initially a casual position with no set working hours, instead we’ll offer flexible working opportunities with the possibility of moving to a permanent contract.
We are specifically looking for candidates who:
- Are flexible
- Have experience of working with vulnerable adults
- Are excellent communicators
- Are empathetic, patient and have a caring nature
- A qualification within the health and social care industry is desirable.
All successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. Personal or paid experience in care will be a distinct advantage.
