A unique venture run by the Black Country’s leading sight loss charity the Beacon Centre is offering a special Easter treat for children.

The organisation’s Halesowen site combines both a coffee lounge and a charity shop on the same site.

Both the shop and coffee lounge are partly staffed by volunteers and all profits from the branch ploughed back into helping Beacon support those living with sight loss.

The coffee lounge already runs a successful afternoon tea for adults but has decided to serve up a special one for youngsters over Easter.

For £5 per child youngsters can tuck into some sandwiches, vegetable sticks, cakes, jellies, fruit and a drink. They also get their own Easter themed colouring sheet.

Beacon Centre Halesowen manager Dawn Sawbridge said: “Our normal afternoon teas are incredibly popular and we thought why not branch out and do one for children as well?

“We have already had quite a bit of interest from parents wanting to come along during the school holidays so would urge anyone interested to get in touch soon to book their space.”
