We were delighted to welcome members of the National Caribbean Monument charity to the Beacon Centre for a recent visit.

The group is campaigning to get a monument installed at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire to pay tribute to contribution that Caribbean soldiers have made to the British Armed Forces. To showcase their cause the group recently held a conference at the Beacon Centre in Sedgley.

Beacon Centre’s Partnership Development Manager Donna Gordon said: “We were happy to offer them a warm welcome and we hope to work together in the future to promote and raise awareness of the important contribution that Caribbean and African service men and women have made to the British Arms Forces since the 1st World War, and the need to raise a monument to commemorate their efforts.”
