Beacon and Wolverhampton Tuesday Darts League celebrated its latest donation which has raised their total contribution to just over £20,000 over the last 60 years.

Wolverhampton Tuesday Darts League, which plays its games around a number of pubs in the Wolverhampton area, has been supporting Beacon ever since the league’s formation and has raised a huge £20k over the decades to support people living with sight loss.  The cheque was handed over to Beacon at the Emerald Social Club, on Cross Street North, during a celebration evening on Friday 15 February. The evening also included a trophy ceremony which saw the season’s winners given their prizes. In addition, the league holds regular collection events to raise money.

Vannessa Bradburn, League Treasurer, added: “Everyone had a great evening and we were delighted to hand over the cheque to Beacon. To raise over £20k is a huge landmark and all the players and supporters should be very proud. We all know the important work Beacon does and we are already looking forward to trying to smash this year’s total next time.”

Beacon CEO, Lisa Cowley, added: “Without the generous support of organisations like this we would not be able to do the vital work we do and help support so many people in our community. We are very grateful for all the money raised and would like to thank everyone for their support and kind donations.”
