Retail Driver

12 hours per week, must be able to work flexibly including some weekends

£8.21 per hour

Based Sedgley with local travel required

Beacon are currently recruiting a Driver to assist with our collections and deliveries between our Charity Shops.  The role involves collecting and delivering furniture and donations, as well as house clearances within the West Midlands.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has been in a similar role
  • has manual handling experience – preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • must be able to work effectively with our valued volunteers
  • good communication skills and professional approach
  • is self-motivated, driven and organised,
  • able to plan appropriate routes, to deliver the most efficient and effective journey time.

All successful candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check, and must have a full and current Driving Licence including D1 Category or PCV.

Assistive Technology Strategy and Development Officer                  

 37.5 hours per week

 £25,000 – £28,000 per annum

 Fixed term contract ending on 31st July 2020

 Based Beacon Centre Sedgley, however travel throughout the West Midlands is required

 The successful candidate for this new role will manage the West Midlands Technology project, funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust. This project aims to map the existing provision of Assistive Technology across West Midlands Sight Loss organisations, and scope delivery of shared services across partner organisations.

In addition, this role will support the development of Assistive Technology projects and programmes at Beacon.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • High levels of technological experience, ideally in an assistive context
  • Excellent people engagement skills
  • Experience of developing strategies and implementation plans
  • Ability to work across diverse organisations and build co-operation

 Some experience of the sight loss or disability sector and the role of technology within it, is desirable.

Health and Wellbeing Support Assistant

Variety of shifts and hours available

£8.37 – £8.87 per Hour

At Beacon Domiciliary care, we provide support to adults with personal care, to enable them to live independently in their own home for as long as possible.

We are currently looking to recruit Health and Wellbeing Support Assistants to work both within the community and in our accommodation at Beacon Centre, to deliver this personal care. It is essential that applicants have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is flexible
  • Can work full days and alternate weekends
  • Has experience of working with vulnerable adults
  • Is an excellent communicator
  • Is empathetic, patient and has a caring nature
  • A qualification within the health and social care industry is desirable.

All successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, have a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle. Personal or paid experience in home care will be a distinct advantage.
