Community Care Assistant – Zero- Hours Contract (Flexible Working)

£8.31 per hour (Community) plus 25p per mile

£7.50 per hour (Beacon Court)

At Beacon Extra care we provide support to all adults with personal care, to enable them to live independently in their own home for as long as possible.  This could be from a 15 minute call to a one hour call out.

The role involves providing support to adults who find difficulty in carrying out daily routine tasks such as cooking; cleaning; washing dishes; escorting to appointments; preparation of meals; bathing and toileting of clients.

We are seeking to build a bank of Home Support Staff who are ready to take on work as and when we take on new clients. We will work around your schedules; this is a job that is flexible around your other commitments.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience as a Home Assistant
  • has experience of working with vulnerable adults
  • has excellent time-keeping
  • is an excellent communicator
  • is empathetic
  • is self-motivated, driven and organised.

A qualification within the health and social care industry is desirable.

All successful candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check, a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle. Personal or paid experience in home care will be a distinct advantage.

Optometrist (Part-Time)

As an Optometrist, you’ll not only be responsible for the Clinical service, but you will be heavily involved in the commercial development too, which means bringing great new ideas and initiatives and marketing your department effectively ensuring that sales increase. • Assist and support the Low Vision Plus Service and Equipment & Advice Officer
• Communicate appointments and feedback from Clients

• Administer data entry onto appropriate systems

Volunteer Catering Assistant

Would you like to meet new people and make a difference to someone living with sight loss?

We are looking for a Volunteer Catering Assistant to: 

  • Prepare and serve snacks, meals and refreshments.
  • Handle small amounts of money, using a till system.
  • Participate in keeping all areas of the kitchen and table areas clean and tidy.
  • Clear tables after use.
  • Assist staff with additional duties at busiest times of the day.
  • Assist staff members during the set up of conferencing events, as required.
