Based in Cannock, with travel to East Staffs areas, including Tamworth, Lichfield and Burton

36 hours per week

Salary £22,913.28

This post is fixed term until 30/09/2021 – subject to funding

The purpose of this role is to assist people with visual impairments and people with other disabilities and/or barriers to get ready to move into employment, further education/training or job search, by delivering a wide range person centred programme, including training, social and life skills and recreational activities.  Previous experience in a similar role preferable; educated to equivalent Level 4 in either Care / Management / IAG, or a teaching / training qualification. Full Clean Driving Licence with business use insurance and access to vehicle due to travel required within the role.

Care Coordinator

37.5 hours per week

As a key member of the Health & Wellbeing Care team, the main purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive care call scheduling and administration service to enable the Registered Care Manager and Field Supervisor to deliver a high-quality care service.  In particular, you will ensure there are appropriately trained and assigned carers for each call, manage rotas, annual leave and call schedules and undertake emergency care calls when required.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience of working with people with disabilities.
  • Experience of developing, planning and delivering care services.
  • Experience of managing dispersed staff.
  • Excellent administrative skills and knowledge of using Microsoft Office and bespoke IT systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to adapt and change services efficiently.
  • Educated to NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care standard or equivalent.
  • Able to meet an enhanced DBS check.

The successful candidate in this new role will provide general administrative support to the Health and Wellbeing Directorate, including being the first point of contact for telephone and e-mail enquiries, inputting, collating and sourcing data for reports and assisting with compiling letters and documentation.

    Physical Wellbeing Officer

    37.5 hours per week

    The successful candidate in this new role will design and deliver physical wellbeing activities to support customers to improve their physical strength, mobility, balance and confidence. Responsible for managing the gym facilities, you will establish user agreements and protocols, overseeing equipment purchase and maintenance.  You will also maintain up to date IT records.

    • Experience of designing and delivering physical wellbeing programmes.
    • Experience of liaising with medical professionals in relation to customers with health conditions.
    • Experience of working collaboratively with a range of internal/external delivery partners.

      Field Supervisor

      24 hours per week

      Working within the Health & Wellbeing Care team, the main purpose of this role is to undertake and set up the care delivery for each client, ensuring the service delivered is consistently strong. The role involves visiting clients to create a tailored care and support plan, monitoring and reviewing services to ensure they are delivered to a consistently high standard, including undertaking shadowing and spot checks.  You will also be required to provide cover for calls as and when needed.

      The post holder will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of the social hub within the Sedgley Beacon centre.  They will be part of a team of officers that provide inspiration, support and care for Beacon clients to enable their safety and independence as far as possible, supporting their engagement in Beacons Health & Wellbeing programmes and activities.

        Beacon Vision, is a leading regional charity, supporting people across the Black Country and Staffordshire impacted by Sight Loss. The charity first began life in 1875 and in that time has supported thousands of people and had a huge impact on the visually impaired community. Over time the charity has evolved to be a leading innovator in the sector supporting academic and commercial research into new technologies from autonomous vehicles to virtual reality headsets and developing sports, rehabilitation and employment programmes, which give people back their independence and confidence.

        We are dedicated to making a visible difference for people with sight loss.

        The charity is governed by a board of trustees made up of up to twelve people with a diverse range of skills and experience who together, ensure that the charity is effectively operated in pursuit of our charitable aims. There is also a wholly owned trading arm and CIC that govern our Enterprise activities including retail, hospitality and opticians. The charity’s turnover is c. £3million and we employ 140 staff and are supported by over 276 volunteers.

        Health and Wellbeing Support Assistant

        £8.37 – £8.87 per Hour

        At Beacon Domiciliary care, we provide support to adults with personal care, to enable them to live independently in their own home for as long as possible.

        We are currently looking to recruit Health and Wellbeing Support Assistants to work both within the community and in our accommodation at Beacon Centre, to deliver this personal care. It is essential that applicants have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

        We are looking for someone who:

        • Is flexible.
        • Can work full days and alternate weekends.
        • Has experience of working with vulnerable adults.
        • Is an excellent communicator.
        • Is empathetic, patient and has a caring nature.
        • A qualification within the health and social care industry is desirable.

        All successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, have a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle. Personal or paid experience in home care will be a distinct advantage.
