Enterprises Director

Ca £40k

Beacon was established in 1875 with its charitable aim “To promote the relief of visually impaired persons”. For almost 150 years we have supported thousands of visually impaired people and their families, adapt to sight loss and live as independently as practicable within their homes and communities.

We opened our first charity shop in the 1890’s and now have a network of 7 that we wish to double over the next 3 years, as well as developing our social enterprise Opticians, conferencing offer and other new enterprise activities.

This is a hugely exciting role that has the potential to make a difference to many 1000’s of people living with sight loss across the region by generating monies to support the parent charity – Beacon Centre for the Blind.

We are looking for a successful social entrepreneur, able to spot and exploit commercial opportunities, with a flair for innovation coupled with an ability to network widely and operate  credibly across all sectors of business at all levels.
