Shop with Beacon and help support those who remain most at risk from Coronavirus
The Beacon Centre is beginning to reopen some of its shops following their temporary closure due to Covid-19.
Staff have been working hard over the past few weeks to establish new ways of working so that all necessary precautions are in place and stores can reopen safely to help raise much needed funds for our charity which has been losing £12,500 a week just from the closure of its seven retail outlets across the region.
Our Sedgley, Wolverhampton, Penkridge and Bloxwich stores are now open.
We will need to do things a little differently for now and we’ve detailed some of the changes below so you can have an idea of what to expect if you are able to start shopping with us again.
We can’t wait to welcome you back and we are so grateful for your patience and support, thank you.
Sedgley opening hours
Tuesday to Saturdays between 9 am and 3.30 pm
Wolverhampton Clearance Centre
Wednesday to Sunday between 9 am and 3.30 pm
Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 3.30 pm
Monday to Saturday 9.30 am to 4 pm
At the end of each working day our stores will be thoroughly cleaned. We’ve put in sight friendly markings around the shops to make social distancing easier, plastic screens will be in place at the tills and the changing rooms will not be in use.
We will only be able to allow six customers in the Sedgley shop and Wolverhampton Clearance Centre at any one time, four in Bloxwich and two in the Penkridge shop. We will be asking all customers to sanitise their hands on entering the shops.
While we are happy for shoppers to browse, we please ask for this to be kept to a minimum.
We are also encouraging our shoppers to pay by contactless card whenever possible.
We really welcome your donations but we have had to bring in a few restrictions to ensure everyone’s safety. You can view our information on how best to donate to Beacon here.
We are also able to collect donations of furniture, please call 01902 880 111 to arrange.
To reduce contact during our collections we ask where possible for people to leave the items outside their property and the driver will call prior to the collection.
If you would like to donate good quality clothing or other items, we would ask if possible for you to donate via our Clearance Centre where we have much more space to store goods. If you would like to donate to our Penkridge shop please call in advance as we only have limited storage space.
All donated items will be left untouched for 72 hours and we have to ask everyone making a donation to the shop to leave their details and confirm that they or anyone in your household has had any Covid-19 symptoms within the last 14 days.
While good quality donations are so very appreciated we need to ask that people don’t leave any outside our shops when they are closed as we are unable to accept them.
We’ve been inundated with kind donations to our stores in recent weeks so we need to ask people to please call in advance if they would like to like to bring items in to check if we have the storage space.
How else you can support Beacon
Our shops were closed for 11 weeks and during that time we have lost £12,500 per week, a huge loss to our charity.
So, we would like to ask if any of our regular shoppers could consider making a donation to our charity to help our frontline workers continue to offer the services so desperately needed by those most vulnerable in our community.
You can support us by texting BEACONCRISIS (all one word) to 70085 today (Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message) or donating via our website www.beaconvision.org/urgent
